Bobby Dowell Promoted to Chief of Police


The Town of Bartonville is pleased to announce the appointment of Bobby Dowell as the Chief of Police.  Chief Dowell, a 17-year law enforcement veteran, has been serving as the Town’s Sergeant since October of 2015.  Chief Dowell first joined the Town of Bartonville in March 2013 as a Police Officer.

Prior to joining the Bartonville Police Department, Chief Dowell served over twelve years in Northlake, where he advanced through the ranks of officer, sergeant, lieutenant, and interim Chief.

Chief Dowell is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts.  Chief Dowell majored in Criminal Justice.  He is also a graduate of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (L.E.M.I.T).   Chief Dowell’s certifications include Master Peace Officer, Basic Firearms Instructor, and a TCOLE Instructor.  He has over 4,700 hours of training.

Chief Dowell has a passion for community cooperative policing, transparency in law enforcement, and the development of public safety in the Town through community engagement and interaction.
