Fire District

The Denton County Emergency Services District Number 1 provides the Town with its fire, rescue, and emergency medical services through a contract with the Argyle Volunteer Fire District, AVFD.

The AVFD provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical services for citizens of Argyle, Bartonville, Copper Canyon, Corral City, Lantana, and Northlake, as well as the Denton County area surrounding these cities. The District covers approximately 55 square miles and approximately 16,000 people. Averaging 1050 incidents a year, the AVFD is a combination paid and volunteer department, staffing four personnel during daytime hours and two paramedics 24-hours a day. Incident call response is supplemented by our twenty-four dedicated volunteer members.

All paid firefighter and paramedic personnel are certified by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection and the Texas Department of State Health Services. Twenty of the twenty-four volunteer staff are certified by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection, and sixteen are certified EMT-B or higher with the Texas Department of State Health Services which provides the best possible service to the communities and citizens we serve.
